Alumni branches are volunteer-driven, geographically-based alumni groups whose purpose is to bring King’s alumni together for both social and professional gatherings in support of the Alumni Association’s strategic goals. Branch activity provide members with a means of celebrating achievements and maintaining valuable lifelong connections with former classmates, while helping the university meet its current day needs.
At a recent alumni gathering in Toronto, Christine Saunders, BA(Hons)’93 writes, “The room buzzed with warmth as old friends reconnected with each other and reminisced about our shared experience. We were reminded of what makes us who we are as King’s alumni – our connection with a love of ideas and the physical campus of the quad. And it brought into focus the role we must now play for the university as alumni – to ensure the legacy for future generations.”
Alumni are King’s best measure of success. And our alumni are among the best placed to help the college maintain its reputation for excellence and its ability to offer an unparalleled student experience.
Ottawa Branch president, Rowan Weerdenburg, BA(Hons)’09 states, “Our goal for 2016 is to build up our membership and our presence. We want alumni in Ottawa to feel engaged, both with the broader King’s community and with the exceptional group of alumni living in the National Capital Region.”
